INTRODUCTION
This Supplier
Code of Conduct (“Code”) defines the minimum standards that all suppliers,
partners, manufacturers, artisans, and service providers (“Suppliers”) must
comply with when conducting business with Earthen Living LLP (“Earthen
Living”).
This Code forms
an integral part of the Merchant Agreement / Supplier Agreement and is
binding upon all Suppliers operating on or associated with the Earthen Living
platform.
2. SCOPE &
APPLICABILITY
This Code applies
to:
- All product suppliers (brands, manufacturers,
artisans)
- Vendors and service providers
- Subcontractors and third-party production units
Suppliers are
responsible for ensuring compliance across their entire supply chain.
3. LEGAL
COMPLIANCE
Suppliers must
comply with all applicable laws and regulations in India, including but not
limited to:
- Labour and employment laws
- Environmental laws
- Consumer protection regulations
- Product safety and certification requirements
Where applicable,
Suppliers must maintain valid:
- GST registration
- Industry-specific licenses (e.g., FSSAI)
- Certifications (e.g., Organic, Eco-friendly claims)
4. BUSINESS
ETHICS & INTEGRITY
Suppliers shall:
- Conduct business with honesty, integrity, and
transparency
- Avoid any form of corruption, bribery, or unethical
practices
- Provide accurate and truthful product information
- Refrain from misleading claims or false
representations
All product
claims (e.g., “organic”, “natural”, “biodegradable”) must be:
- Verifiable
- Supported by appropriate documentation
5. LABOUR
& HUMAN RIGHTS
5.1 Fair
Treatment
Suppliers must
ensure:
- Fair and respectful treatment of all workers
- No discrimination based on gender, caste, religion,
or background
5.2 Wages
& Working Conditions
Suppliers shall:
- Pay fair and timely wages
- Comply with minimum wage laws
- Provide safe and hygienic working conditions
- Ensure access to basic facilities such as clean
drinking water
5.3 Working
Hours
Working hours
must comply with applicable laws and must not be excessive.
6. PROHIBITION
OF CHILD LABOUR
Suppliers must
not engage in child labour.
For the purpose
of this Code:
- “Child labour” refers to work that harms a child’s
development, education, or well-being
Suppliers must:
- Comply with all applicable child labour laws
- Ensure no involvement of children in hazardous or
exploitative work
Permissible:
- Non-harmful participation in family-based work
outside school hours, provided it does not affect education or development

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
Suppliers are
expected to operate in an environmentally responsible manner.
This includes:
- Minimizing environmental impact during production
- Preventing contamination of air, water, and soil
- Reducing waste and promoting sustainable practices
- Using eco-friendly and biodegradable materials
where possible
Suppliers must
continuously work toward improving their environmental performance.
8. RESPONSIBLE
SOURCING & TRACEABILITY
Suppliers must
ensure:
- Transparency in sourcing of raw materials
- Ethical procurement practices
- Ability to provide traceability of products upon
request
Suppliers shall
provide:
- Details of raw materials used
- Production processes
- Quality control measures
9. PRODUCT
STANDARDS & SAFETY
Suppliers are
responsible for:
- Ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance
- Adhering to applicable product standards and
regulations
- Avoiding use of harmful or unsafe materials
Use of plastic or
non-sustainable materials:
- Must be minimized
- Must be justified where unavoidable
10. PACKAGING
& SUSTAINABILITY
Suppliers must:
- Use environmentally responsible packaging
- Minimize plastic usage
- Comply with Earthen Living packaging guidelines (if
applicable)
11. DATA
PROTECTION & CONFIDENTIALITY
Suppliers must:
- Protect any confidential business or customer
information
- Comply with applicable data protection laws,
including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
- Not misuse or disclose any data obtained through
the platform
12. MONITORING
& COMPLIANCE
Earthen Living
reserves the right to:
- Request documentation or proof of compliance
- Conduct audits or assessments (directly or through
third parties)
- Review supplier practices periodically
Suppliers must
cooperate fully with such processes.
13. VIOLATIONS
& ENFORCEMENT
Non-compliance
with this Code may result in:
- Suspension of product listings
- Termination of supplier relationship
- Legal action, where applicable
Earthen Living
reserves the right to take corrective action without prior notice.
14. CONTINUOUS
IMPROVEMENT
Suppliers are
encouraged to:
- Continuously improve ethical, social, and
environmental standards
- Adopt best practices in sustainable and responsible
business
15. ACCEPTANCE
OF CODE
By engaging with
Earthen Living, the Supplier:
- Acknowledges and agrees to comply with this Code
- Confirms that all operations and supply chains
adhere to these standards
